The Question Bug

This little fellah has taken up residence on my bedroom wall, where he muses on imponderable philosophical questions.

Time to get the hoover out.

NOW I recall why I started to read your blog - I was searching on MySpace for people who started in Trinity in 1989, like me. And I see, from your MySpace, that you studied English. Say, maybe you knew a friend of mine, who also started in 1989, doing English and History and went on to do a PhD in Trinity in medieval something or other...

Name of Conor McCarthy, from Castlebar - tall, gangly, black hair, glasses, used to work in the Students Union bookshop.

The phrase "It's a small world" hovers on my tongue, ready to be uttered...

And so it came to pass, the world was declared to be teeny-tiny.

Conor was the year ahead of me: I did a year of Computer Science before switching to English in 1990. I think I knew him through Sara Cooney (and cohorts Katherine and Lisa), who were in his year in English/History.

How strange!

Very small world - and Conor is now off in the southern hemisphere, and the rest of us spread between London, Dublin, Madeira, Canada and the US. Irish diaspora or what..

Paddy, apologies but I don't know if we met back in TCD days but hi and hope things are really well with you.

That bug is nothing; it's the sassy crimson three-inch cockroach that freaks me out.

I thought calling it sassy might make it seem more endearing. Not working thus far...
